  This position will include all aspects of golf course maintenance. In addition to daily course maintenance the following irrigation duties will include:  
 
  • Checking for proper sprinkler head operation

  • Replace failing valves
  • Hand watering and scouting for wilt

  Golf Course Superintendent (posted 2/26/2021)

  Eagle Mountain House & Golf Club — Jackson, NH  
     
  The Eagle Mountain House and Golf Club is seeking a seasonal superintendent to oversee the 9-hole golf course. This scenic par 32 golf course is in Jackson, NH in the heart of the White Mountains. The seasonal position runs from April to early November. Employment can be year-round if applicant would like to transfer to another hotel department during the winter months.  
     
  The qualified candidate will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the golf course and equipment. These responsibilities include; turf grass maintenance, equipment maintenance, scheduling, upkeep of irrigation systems, chemical applications and personnel management.  
     
  Primary Duties:  
 
  • Responsible for all phases of golf course and equipment maintenance, cost control, and personnel.
  • Works closely with hotel general manager and golf pro.
  • Must be able to work independently and be a self-starting problem solver.
  • Oversees the care and maintenance of the turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees and wetlands on the facility grounds.
  • Oversees the maintenance and repair of golf course equipment either directly or via outside vendors.
  • Recruits, supervises and retains maintenance staff. Conducts employee performance evaluations and exercises disciplinary action.
  • Supervises and participates in the application and recording of chemical applications (fertilizers and pesticides) on the golf course in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
 
     
  Knowledge & Skills Required:  
 
  • Knowledge of management and maintenance of greens, fairways and roughs.
  • Knowledge of use and operating standards of equipment and tools used in golf course maintenance work.
  • Skill in recruiting, supervising, training, monitoring, evaluating and motivating personnel. 
  • Knowledge of safe use, mixing and application of chemicals and commercial products.

In addition to golf the club has a 36,000 sq. ft. sports complex, outdoor tennis and paddle ball, wedding and event center and swimming pool.

  Job Description and Skills:  
  Golf Club of New England is seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic to oversee and maintain a broad spectrum of turf care equipment.  
     
  The equipment manager/mechanic will be responsible for a mixed fleet of Toro and John Deere greens, tees, fairway and rough mowers. John Deere tractors, gators and aerifiers. Club car carts (member carts and utility carts), as well as many other small pieces of Stihl and Honda equipment.  
 
  • The equipment tech must possess good organizational and record keeping skills.
  • Must be able to perform moderate physical labor.
  • Must be able to communicate with superintendent and assistant superintendent on a daily basis.
  • Must be responsible for ordering parts and keeping track of inventory.
  • Proficiency in Express Dual 3000 and Angle Master 3000 grinding is preferred.
  • Has an understanding of reel grinding and mower setup and the effect on course conditions.
  • Has the ability to establish preventative maintenance programs.
  • Shop organization skills.
  • Understanding of golf course equipment electronics and hydraulics.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize.

  Brief Job Description:  
  Looking for person(s) experienced with golf course maintenance including the monitoring and care of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, irrigation, etc. This is a hands on supervisory position that will and report to the Owner/General Manager of the course. An experienced Consulting Superintendent will be made available to support the right candidate as requested by the successful applicant. This position can be either seasonal position or full time depending upon the candidate.  
     
  Job Duties  
  Knowledge and proper care and maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers and rough. Specific experience required should include most of the following functions/skills:  
 
  • Knowledge concerning application of herbicides, pesticides and fungicides. A license is preferred, but we will contract with outside sprayer in the alternative.
  • Maintenance and care of equipment on the golf course.
  • Irrigation…maintenance of sprinkler heads, valves, pumps, lateral and main water lines.
  • Irrigation… familiarity with Toro computer-controlled irrigation systems.
  • Candidates must have the ability to work independently while supervising the work with others.
